Okay, this photo isn't my own work. My older sister was actually the one to snap this lucky chance shot, but it is of my family and a really good picture, so I had to share.
Taken while on the beach in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida when my mother had dragged all of us (wearing matching white t-shirts and shorts -- denim for my parents; khaki for my sisters and me) out for a 'family photo shoot' type of ordeal. By this time we were all getting sort of frustrated with how long it was taking for my mother to get all of the shots she wanted and such...
My mother requested my sister to take pictures of she and my father walking hand-in-hand next to the tide to try and capture some sort of picture perfect moment. My little sister and I found ourselves in photo-range and hurriedly moved to get out of the way; she was walking backward and turned to run but... alas!
There was a sandcastle right behind her and she tripped over it. My older sister caught a shot just after our younger sibling fell. My father has a really goofy grin on his face like he's trying not to laugh. My mother is pointing and laughing heartily. I think my little sister is smiling out of embarrassment. And I'm covering my mouth trying to keep it hidden that I'm snickering, but I am.
That moment was just what we needed to dissipate the tension that was building between all of us, and I think it's wonderful that we were able to save the memory forever. After all, it's little things like these that really make a family feel like a family, isn't it?
As always, if you use it or manipulate my photograph, please just make sure to give credit where credit is due. I'm not asking much; really! (Though I'd also appreciate it if you link me to see where you use it/how you manipulate it, if you'd be so kind.) To credit me simply linking to my deviant profile or directly to this deviation would suffice. Thank you.
Yeah... unfortunately Mum worked it in for us. But we humored her because it'll probably be a long time before the family will be together like that, y'know?

Yeah, did the same for Michelle, because we ended up doing it. Blech. But, yeah, we probably won't see her until next summer, hopefully earlier, so we sucked it up. And then Aleks went and had a temper tantrum...
